NMU STUDENT NAMED A HEALTH EDUCATION MAJOR OF THE YEAR

            MARQUETTE – Amy Cook of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., has been named a health education major of the year by the American Association for Health Education (AAHE). She is a senior at Northern Michigan University.

            Cook will be recognized along with more than 50 other health education majors from across the country at the AAHE Outstanding Health Education Undergraduate Majors Award Ceremony on April 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

            AAHE serves health educators and other professionals concerned with health promotion through education and other systemic strategies. Its Outstanding Health Education Undergraduate Majors Award annually recognizes nominated students from universities that have health education/promotion degree programs.

            Cook will receive a certificate and have her name published in the newsletters of AAHE and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
