MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University will host a biology seminar titled “A Functional Genomics Approach to Understanding Complex Diseases: M. paratuberculosis and the Bovine Immune System” at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Mead Auditorium.
Paul Couseens, director of the molecular pathogenesis laboratory at Michigan State University, will give the presentation. He will discuss the pathogenic bacteria M. paratuberculosis, which has been shown to cause disease in cattle and is thought to be a causative agent to some human diseases as well.
