AUTHOR PATRICK LIVINGSTON TO GIVE READING

            MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University’s master of fine arts program and Passages North magazine will sponsor a reading by author Patrick Livingston at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the Federated Women’s Clubhouse in Marquette.

            Livingston will read excerpts from his book Eight Steamboats: Sailing Through the Sixties, which was named a Michigan Notable Book in 2005. Livingston spent his formative years as a sailor on the Detroit River and the Great Lakes. He has also served as an agricultural technician in Nepal with the Peace Corps, and as a field agent for the Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Sea Grant. He is currently an education consultant with the Seti River Education Program, linking teachers in southeast Michigan with their counterparts in Nepal.
