DROSOPHILA GENE SEMINAR AT NMU

            MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University biology department will sponsor “Characterization of the Drosophila Bang-sensitive Mutant Slamdance” at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in Mead Auditorium.

            Christopher Jones from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa., will discuss the Drosophila (fruit fly) slamdance gene, which is a paralytic mutant that exhibits hyperactive behavior and paralysis following a mechanical “bang” or electrical shock. The general public is invited to this free event.
