NCLL PRESENTS 'THE RAILROAD THAT NEVER RAN'

MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “The Railroad that Never Ran” from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at First United Methodist Church room 110.

Robert Dobson, a researcher and author, will explain the story of the Iron Range and Huron Bay Railroad, which went from Champion to Huron Bay. It was built over the course of three years by 1,500 men and cost over $1.2 million. But it ended up never running a single train.

The cost is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. There is no class size limit, and the registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 10. To register, contact the NCLL office at 227-2729. For more information, contact the class liaison at 226-6169.
