MARQUETTE – In conjunction with Native American Heritage Month, Allison Hedge-Coke and Shirley Brozzo of Northern Michigan University will give a public reading of their published works at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the University Center lounge.
Hedge-Coke, who is Cherokee/Huron, is an assistant English professor at NMU and has received the American Book Award for her poetry. Brozzo is Ojibwe, and is the assistant director of diversity student services at NMU. She is currently completing the Master of Fine Arts program for creative writing. The works of both women will appear in a Native American month literary publication.
