TROUPE TO GIVE READING AT NMU

            MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University will present a public reading by Quincy Troupe, a two-time American Book Award winner, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Erie Room of the University Center.

            Troupe is the author of 14 books, including seven volumes of poetry. Transcircularities: New and Selected Poems, his latest book of poetry, was selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the ten best poetry collections published in 2002.

Transcircularities also received the Binghamton University Milt Kessler Poetry Book Award in 2003 and was a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize.

            Troupe is also professor emeritus of creative writing and American and Caribbean literature at the University of California in San Diego. He currently lives in New York City with his wife, Margaret.
