MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will hold a workshop titled “DX-ing the AM Radio Band” from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the First Presbyterian Church.

Presenter John Forslin will discuss how radio waves in the autumn season pick up AM stations that are long distances away.  Radio programs from other states as well as Canada can be heard at this time of year.  Participants will also learn how to better their radios and antennas, and receive a handout containing clear-channel stations, information on homemade antennas, radio options, sample pages from a world-wide radio station directory, and web references.

The registration deadline is Oct. 17, and the class size is limited to 8.  The cost is $4 for members and $7 for nonmembers.  To register or for more information, call 249-3229.
