MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has elected officers and approved a meeting schedule for calendar year 2006.

The leadership of the board will remain the same, as current Chair Karl Weber of Marquette and Vice Chair Larry Inman of Williamsburg were both reelected.

Weber was appointed to the NMU Board of Trustees in May 2001. He is the managing partner of the northern Michigan office of Plunkett & Cooney, a full-service law firm with offices throughout Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Inman was appointed to the board in December 2002. He is a vice president with Huntington National Bank in Traverse City.

All 2006 board meetings will be held on a Thursday-Friday on the NMU campus, with the possible exception of the August retreat.

          The schedule is as follows:

          •Feb. 23-24

          •May 4-5 (preceding commencement May 6)

          •Aug. 10-11 (annual retreat)

          •Oct. 5-6

          •Dec. 14-15 (preceding commencement Dec. 16)

Individuals wishing to address the NMU Board of Trustees may submit a written notice – in person or by mail – two weeks in advance of the meeting to Secretary of the Board, Room 602 Cohodas Administrative Center, Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Ave., Marquette, MI 49855.
