MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University’s homecoming festivities will take place this week, leading up to the Sept. 17 football game against Wayne State. The theme for this year is “Old Hollywood Comes to Northern.” 

          Events include classic film screenings, as well as the annual king and queen competition and Dead River games. Nationally-acclaimed comedian Hal Sparks will also be on campus at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, courtesy of Platform Personalities.

          The homecoming parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and will travel down Third Street. A block party will precede the football game from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the Superior Dome. Alumni activities include the NMU Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner and a 5th quarter reception after the game.
