MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University has announced the entertainment lineup for its 2005-06 Performing Art Series.
The first event features the Grammy-winning Alison Brown quartet on Saturday, Oct. 8. Other scheduled performances are: singer/songwriter David Wilcox, on Saturday, Nov. 19; blues band Magic Slim and the Teardrops, on Saturday, Jan. 28; Grammy-winning African-American singer Odetta, on Friday, Feb. 17; the dynamic jazz Danilo Perez Trio, on Saturday, March 18; and the Japanese drummers Kiyoshi Nagata Ensemble, on Wednesday, April 19.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at Kaufman Auditorium, with the exception of Magic Slim and the Teardrops, who will perform in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center. Seating in Kaufman Auditorium is reserved. Seating for the concert in the Great Lakes Rooms will be general club style.
Season tickets for all six events are $15 for all students, $70 for NMU faculty and staff and $75 for the general public, and are available at the Superior Dome.
Advance tickets for individual events are $3 for all students, $14 for NMU faculty and staff and $15 for the general public. Tickets at the door are $2 more than advance prices.
