NMU PARTICIPATES IN STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR PROGRAM

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University is participating in a national program that recognizes excellent student employees.

The National Student Employment Association sponsors the national program. Student employees who win at a college or university can progress in the program to state, regional and national levels of recognition.

In order to qualify for the award, students must be enrolled at NMU at least part-time and must have completed or will complete a minimum of six months of employment in their present positions between June 1, 2002, and May 31, 2003. Only students paid through the NMU payroll are eligible. The award will be determined based upon the following criteria: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution.

One winner will be selected and named the Northern Michigan University Student Employee of the Year. Two runners up will also be named.

The Student Employee of the Year will receive a check for $25, a $25 gift certificate to the local restaurant of his or her choice, a recognition plague, recognition in on- and off-campus publications, and the opportunity to be considered for the state award. All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.
