MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Art Museum is hosting the exhibit “SEE-WORTHY: Vessels from the Desert Southwest” until Oct. 5.
The exhibit features six artists from Santa Fe, N.M., and was curated by Santa Fe artist Lena Bartula. Each artwork uses a boat or another vessel in its imagery. Vessels often have symbolism as metaphors for the journey through life.
The featured artists are Bartula, Juan Kelly, Lex Lucius, Darlene Olivia McElroy, Maxx Stevens and Emily Trovillion.
The NMU Art Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
