MARQUETTE – Patricia Foster, a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, will give a public reading at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Women's Federated Clubhouse on Ridge Street. She will read from her book of essays, Just Beneath My Skin, and her memoir All the Lost Girls.  

            Foster is teaching a workshop on creative nonfiction in the summer visiting writers program in the English department at Northern Michigan University.  She is editor of Minding the Body, Sister to Sister, and co-editor of The Healing Circle, anthologies on female experience.

            She is an associate professor in the master of fine arts program in nonfiction at the University of Iowa. Foster's current projects include revising a novel, writing short stories, and doing research from a nonfiction book on female ambition.  For more information on her reading, call 227-1386.
