MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a walk along the Laughing Whitefish River from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, meeting at the Berry Events Center.
The walk will be about one hour long, and will go to the Peter White camp, where participants will have lunch and Phyllis Reynolds will talk about the history of the camp. The trail is a little hilly and likely to be muddy. Participants should wear sturdy shoes or boots appropriate for muddy conditions, and dress for the weather. Insect repellant and binoculars are recommended.
The cost to participate is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. Class size is limited to 15, and the deadline for registration is Monday, May 9. To register or for more information call 906-892-8242.
