MARQUETTE – Allison Hedge Coke, an assistant professor of writing and native languages at Northern Michigan University, will give a reading from her new book Off-season City Pipe at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, in the Peter White Lounge of the University Center.
Hedge Coke has written two other books: Dog Road Woman in 1998 and Rock, Ghost, Willow, Deer in 2004. She is a recipient of the American Book Award and several other awards for her contributions to magazines, journals and anthologies. Hedge Coke received her undergraduate education at the Institute for American Indian Arts and completed her master of fine arts and post-graduate work at Vermont College. This is her first year with NMU.
