NCLL OFFERS INFORMATION ON IDENTITY THEFT

            MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering an informational program about identity theft and similar crimes from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 21, in the community room at Peter White Public Library.

            Detective Sgt. Steven Snowaert of the Marquette Police Department will provide an overview of crimes and methods criminals use to take advantage of others. The course will also cover basic internet crimes and some common tactics used to commit fraud via the internet. Snowaert will discuss some simple things people can do to protect themselves from these crimes.

            The cost to attend this event is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. The deadline for registration is Monday, April 18. To register or for more information call 906-226-6169.
