MARQUETTE – Author, actor and lawyer Ben Stein will visit Northern Michigan University at 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, in Vandament Arena.

            Stein, the 1970 Yale Law School valedictorian, was speech writer and lawyer for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford in 1973-74. He has written 16 books – seven novels and 9 nonfiction books – on topics ranging from life in Los Angeles to finance to the political content of mass culture. These include How to Ruin Your Financial Life, Tommy and Me: the Making of a Dad about life with his adopted son, and Yes, You Can Time the Market! He has also written many columns and articles for The Wall Street Journal, King Features Syndicate, E! Online, The American Spectator and The Washington Post.

            Stein is the host of the quiz show Win Ben Stein’s Money on the Comedy Central channel. He has acted in many movies and is perhaps best-known for his role as the teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

            The cost to attend this event is $1 for students and $5 for the general public. Tickets are available at EZ Ticket Outlets. The event is sponsored by Platform Personalities and the Student Activity Fee.
