NCLL BAKES WITH SPELT FLOUR

MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a workshop on baking with spelt flour from 1-3 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the kitchen and social room at First United Methodist Church.

Spelt is an ancient grain used for baking breads, pastries, pies and other baked goods, in diets where regular flour is not well tolerated. Karen Monroe, an experienced commercial baker, will discuss techniques for working with this flour. Participants will make a baked product as part of the workshop.

The cost to attend this event is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. Class size is limited to 20, and the deadline for registration is Sunday, April 3. To register or for more information call 906-226-6169 or attend the NCLL Spring Term Kickoff from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in the social room of First United Methodist Church.
