MARQUETTE – Nationally known writer Julianna Baggott will give a fiction and poetry reading at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Federated Women’s Clubhouse in Marquette.
Baggott is the bestselling author of three novels: Girl Talk, The Miss American Family and The Madam. She is also the author of a book of poems titled This Country of Mothers, as well as The Anybodies, which was written under the pen name N.E. Bode and is currently being developed into a film with Nickelodeon Movies at Paramount Pictures. Its sequel, The Nobodies, is scheduled for release in May.
Currently a creative writing teacher at Florida State University, Baggott’s work has appeared in such publications as Poetry, TriQuarterly, Best American Poetry 2000, The Southern Review, Ms. and Glamour. She has given readings across the country and on National Public Radio’s “Talk of the Nation” program.
Sponsored by the Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing at Northern Michigan University and Passages North literary magazine, this event is free and open to the public. Refreshments and copies of Baggott’s work, provided by Snowbound Books, will be available for signing after the reading.
