MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University music professor June Ackroyd will sing at a faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, in Reynolds Recital Hall in C.B. Hedgcock.
Ackroyd, a soprano, will sing American music ranging from colonial times to the early 20th century. Her recital will be comprised of pieces by Francis Hopkinson, the first native-born American composer and a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Amy Beach, Aaron Copland and Charles Ives.
Ackroyd will be accompanied by various faculty and guest instrumentalists such as music professors Nancy Redfern on keyboard, Elda Tate on flute and Donald Grant on clarinet, and former music adjunct professor Carol McAnulty on guitar.
The public is invited to attend this free event.
