NCLL SHOWS 'I NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER'

            MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will show and discuss the film I Never Sang for My Father from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 13, in the community room in Peter White Public Library.

            The film, based on the 1970 play by Robert Anderson, was nominated for several Academy Awards. It tells the story of a college professor who wants to get out from under the thumb of his aging father by marrying a younger woman and moving to California.

Gene Hackman and Melvyn Douglas give insightful performances related to aging and relationships with one’s parents and siblings. After the film, there will be a discussion about family relations.
