NMU SYMPHONIC BAND TO PERFORM

            MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Symphonic Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in Reynolds Recital Hall in the Hedgcock Building.

            The Symphonic Band will perform Bach’s "Prelude and Fugue in G Minor," "Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral" by Wagner, the third movement from Howard Hanson’s Symphony #2, a contemporary piece by Ron Nelson and "A Movement for Rosa" by Mark Camphouse, commemorating Rosa Parks. The wind ensemble from the band will also play "Ritual" by Barns, "Overture for Band" by Heins and "Hobbits," a movement from John de Meij’s Symphony #1 "Lord of the Rings," inspired by the J.R.R. Tolkien novels.

            The public is invited to attend this free event.
