Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan UniversityÂ’s annual WinterFest, held in conjunction with the City of MarquetteÂ’s WinterFest, is scheduled for Feb. 13-19.  “SNOWDAZE: Shake It Up!” is this yearÂ’s theme and the following activities are planned:

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  On Sunday, Feb. 13, the Frozen Campus Games will take place from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Academic Mall.  Games include Snowpeople competition, sledding, drop in broomball, and tug-a-war.  The airband competition is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in 102 Jamrich Hall.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  NMU Ski Day will be Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Marquette Mountain and at the Berry Events Center open skating and a pep rally begins at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Attendees can skate with Wildcat Willy, NMU cheerleaders and hockey players.  There will also be a dance team and hot chocolate is provided.  On Thursday, Feb. 17 the NMU hockey team faces Michigan Tech at 7:35 p.m. at the Berry Events Center.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Friday, Feb 18 marks the day of the U.P. 200 sled dog races which start at 7 p.m. downtown Marquette.  The WinterFest Warm-up Party is scheduled at Upfront & Company from 7 to 11 p.m.  Musical guests are Jim and Ray.  The dayÂ’s activities will conclude with WinterFest Fireworks at 9 p.m. at the Lower Harbor.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  During the last day of WinterFest, on Saturday, Feb. 19 there will be a Winter Fun Run from 10 to 12 p.m. at the Lower Harbor, as well as a Charity Snow shoeing race.
