NASA AMBASSADOR TO DISCUSS TITAN MISSION

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Scott Stobbelaar, a NASA-JPL Solar System Ambassador, will give a talk at Northern Michigan University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, in the Mead Auditorium.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Stobbelaar will discuss the details of HuygenÂ’s probe, which will be deployed on Jan. 14 to Titan, SaturnÂ’s largest moon.  If successful, this will be the first time in history that mankind has landed on the moon of another planet.  Stobbelaar will also show visuals from NASAÂ’s two recent fly-bys of Titan and a simulation of the probeÂ’s descent into TitanÂ’s atmosphere. 

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  This presentation is part of the “Journey Through the Universe” program sponsored by the Glenn T. Seaborg Center for Teaching and Learning Science and Mathematics at NMU.
