MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University will take a one-year hiatus from its annual tradition of hosting a Halloween party for children of NMU students, employees and alumni.
One of the reasons is that Halloween falls on a Sunday and the city of Marquette will hold trick-or-treating on the actual date. Another is a conflict on Friday, Oct. 29. NMU Family Weekend registration will be held that afternoon in the UC atrium, which is where kids typically file through as they fill their goodie bags.
NMU auxiliary services plans to resume the event next year.
