Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – A presentation titled “The Current Legal and Constitutional Status of Gay Marriage” will be held from 3:10-4:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Gries Hall room 167 at Northern Michigan University. Ruth Waltry, an assistant professor in NMUÂ’s political science department, will serve as the presenter.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Topics that will be covered include the Federal Defense of Marriage Act, current attempts to amend the U.S. constitution and the status of gay marriage in those states with laws, court cases, and/or ballot initiatives already passed out or in the works.
