MARQUETTE – Jello Biafra will bring his spoken-word artistry to Northern Michigan University on Monday, Oct. 18. He will perform at 7 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Known throughout the United States as a political activist, Biafra started out as the lead vocalist of a political punk rock band called Dead Kennedys and is credited as the first musician to be put on trial because of the content of one of the bandÂ’s albums. 

Biafra has since released solo spoken-word albums on his own record label.  His presentation will cover topics such as censorship, the legalization of drugs for taxable profit, educational overhaul, and government follies.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Presented by Platform Personalities and paid for by the Student Activity Fee, BiafraÂ’s show is free for students and $1 for non-students.
