MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a presentation of log marks from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the social room at First United Methodist Church.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Rod Smith, formerly an education director with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, will present log marks from the late 1800s and early 1900s.  Log marks were used to show ownership of logs that were floated in the Upper PeninsulaÂ’s rivers and lakes.  Their part in the timber harvesting heritage and their evolution will be discussed.
