PSYCHOLOGY COLLOQUIUM FOCUSES ON OLYMPIC-STYLE BOXERS

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Eddie Yoon, a graduate student in experimental psychology at Northern Michigan University, will present the next psychology colloquium from 3:10-4:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, in Gries Hall room 167 at NMU.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The colloquium is titled, “The Effects of Self-Regulatory Focus, Feedback, and Outcome Focus Framing on the Peak Punch Force Performance of Elite Olympic-Style Boxers.” YoonÂ’s study investigated the effects of feedback and outcome-focus statements on the punching performance of elite Olympic-style boxers with “differential self- regulation focus.” Data were collected using an electronic punching bag which automatically records punching force and time.
