NCLL VISITS ANTIQUE GENERATOR AND WATERWHEEL

 

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a trip to see the Edison-designed antique generator and its waterwheel on the Rock River by Au Train on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Participants will meet at the Berry Events Center parking lot at 11:30 a.m. and return around 3 p.m.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The waterwheel currently operates with a newer generator to provide power, but participants will also see and learn about the original generator. Owner Bill Braamse will speak to the group about the waterwheel and generator design. Participants may bring a sack lunch and eat on the lakeshore.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 10. The cost is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. To register or for more information, call 226-6169.
