Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will discuss ticks from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in room 1108 of the West Science Building at Northern Michigan University.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Retired NMU biology professor Lew Peters will give a presentation about the fearsome tick. Peters will talk about the life cycle of a tick and which one carries diseases such as Lyme and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Participants will be able examine various ticks through microscopes.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The event costs $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers and is limited to 15 participants. The deadline to register is Tuesday, April 13. To register or for more information, call 906-228-9367.
