MARQUETTE – Richard Carbone of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo., will present, “Got Weather? Swirls, Splashes and Waves in the Atmosphere,” at Northern Michigan University.

Carbone will show photos that illustrate the natural beauty associated with various atmospheric phenomena as seen through the “eyes” of cameras, radars, lidars, spectrometers and the calculations of supercomputers. He will accompany the visuals with simple explanations of the forces at work to create each of the phenomena shown.

The presentation will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, in West Science 2904. It is sponsored by Sigma Xi, Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, and Tri Beta Biology Honor Society. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
