MARQUETTE – The Chicago-based Hubbard Street 2 dance company will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette. It is the next featured event in the Northern Michigan University performing arts series.

Hubbard Street 2 is composed of six dancers between the ages of 17 and 25 who perform a repertoire of works by some of the nation’s most promising young choreographers.

The troupe is an extension of the main performing company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.  It reaches more than 30,000 people annually through performances in schools, community centers and theatres.

Hubbard Street 2 is an integral component of the parent companyÂ’s education department, which exposes students to dance, works with teachers to integrate dance and movement into the curriculum, and partners with other Chicago arts organizations on interdisciplinary collaborations.

Advance tickets are $6 for students, $14 for NMU staff/faculty, and $15 for general admission. They are available at all NMU ticket outlets, online at, or by calling 227-1032. The price at the door is an additional $2 per ticket.
