CARIBBEAN CUISINE ON MENU FOR FUNDRAISER

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The hospitality management program at Northern Michigan University will hold its 10th annual fundraising dinner Friday, April 16, at the Jacobetti Center.

The event, “The Perfect Getaway: A Night of Exquisite Caribbean Cuisines,” begins with a social hour with a cash bar at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. A toast tops off the evening at 9:30 p.m.

The dinner features seven courses and four wines. Courses will be prepared by students from the culinary program. Students in the banquets and catering class will serve the dinner and wines.

The menu includes Caribbean shrimp appetizer, roasted red pepper soup, jerk swordfish, kiwi sorbet, rum glazed chorizo stuffed chicken, tomato and grilled corn salad and panatela borracha, with Kahlua soaked cinnamon sponge cake with blue mountain crème an glaze for dessert.

Tickets are $75 per person and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Proceeds will go to the American Culinary Federation Upper Michigan Chapter, the David Sonderschafer Scholarship, the Thaddeus Bogdan Scholarship and the hospitality management program.
