MARQUETTE – The Seaborg Center at Northern Michigan University will sponsor a presentation on the first results from the Mars exploration rovers on Tuesday, March 16.
Scott Stobbelaar, a NASA solar system ambassador, will talk about some of the discoveries made on Mars in the last two months by the Spirit and Opportunity rovers. The latter made headlines recently when it found evidence in a rock outcrop that part of the red planet was wet at one time and perhaps hospitable to life.
The audience at NMU will see video from the rovers and learn more about what it would be like to visit Mars. The session will end with a question-and-answer period.
The presentation is scheduled from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building, room 2701. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
