Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The first informational meeting for a tour of Northern Europe being offered for credit by Northern Michigan University will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14. It is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Jamrich Hall room 203.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Nell Kupper, a modern languages and literatures professor at NMU, will teach a four-credit course titled "Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Northern Europe." From May 20 through June 2, 2004, participants will have an opportunity to sail the canals of Amsterdam, savor Belgian chocolate in Brussels, visit Paris, explore castles of Loire Valley, visit the gardens of Monet's house and partake in other activities.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  No previous French language experience is required to take the course. The cost of the trip will depend on how many people sign up. Students might be eligible for financial aid to defray some of the expense. There will be preliminary meetings on campus prior to the trip, with presentations on the topics covered in the course.
