KINGSFORD MAN HONORED FOR TEACHING BUS SAFETY

MARQUETTE – Bob St. Louis of Kingsford was recently honored by Northern Michigan University’s office of continuing education and sponsored programs for his 17 years of service as an instructor for its Michigan School Bus Driver Safety Education program. He is shown (at right) receiving a plaque from Paul McKelvey, director of continuing education and sponsored programs at NMU.

After St. Louis retired from school administration for Breitung Township Schools, he continued his involvement with bus driver safety education. He was hired by the conference department in 1986 and continued as one of the main instructors until his retirement this month. He played a major role in training new instructors as well as many bus drivers in the central and western regions of the Upper Peninsula.
