MARQUETTE Ã‚– A staged reading of The Golden Coin, a play that explores the tenuous relationship between two revolutionaries of modern psychology Ã‚– Freud and Jung Ã‚– will be held at Northern Michigan University. The reading begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Black Box Theatre, located in the McClintock Building at NMU. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
The Golden Coin offers a glimpse at the relationship between the two men, exhibited as a philosophical duel and brought to the audience by the only patient of both masters.
Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ The play has been translated into English by recent graduate student Amy Pesola and Timothy Compton of the modern languages and literatures department at NMU. The Golden Coin, by Mexican playwright Ignacio Solares, continues to enjoy a successful run in Spanish in Mexico City. The staged reading at NMU will be the first public performance of the play in English.
