MARQUETTE – Don Grant, head of the Northern Michigan University music department, will give a clarinet recital on Sunday, Oct. 19. The performance is scheduled at 3 p.m. in Jamrich Hall room 103. The public is invited to attend and there is no admission charge.

Grant will begin the program with his arrangement of the very first work written for clarinet and orchestra, which he completed while working on his doctorate. He will close with a compilation of selected movements from violin sonatas of Giuseppe Tartini. Grant will also perform selections from Johann Melchior Molter, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.

He will be accompanied by NMU music professor Nancy Redfern on harpsichord and Greg Sulik on piano.
