Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan UniversityÂ’s homecoming festivities are during the week of Sunday, Sept. 21-Saturday, Sept. 27. This yearÂ’s theme is “Green and Gold, Young and Old, Northern Through the Ages.”

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  On Sunday from 2-4 p.m. will be the Dead River Games at the hot ponds area. The games are tug-of-war, ice cream scoop, egg toss and an obstacle course. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, there will be a scavenger hunt in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The homecoming king and queen competition is at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Lakes Rooms.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The homecoming parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the Pine Street parking lot of the Berry Events Center. From there, it goes west on Fair to Third Street, south on Third Street to Hewitt, east on Hewitt to Front Street and north on Front Street to return to the parking lot.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Six former NMU athletes will be inducted into the NMU Sports Hall of Fame at an induction dinner and ceremony Friday in the Great Lakes Rooms. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m., dinner is at 7:15 p.m. and the induction program starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $17.50 per person, and reservations can be made through the NMU Alumni Association at 1-877-GRAD-NMU (1-877-4723-668).

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  On Saturday, there is an alumni awards ceremony and breakfast at 9 a.m. A block party is at 5 p.m. at the Superior Dome. Kickoff between the Wildcats and the University of Indianapolis is at 7 p.m. From 9 p.m. to midnight, there is a Fifth Quarter Reception at the Marquette Holiday Inn.
