NCLL OFFERS HIKE THROUGH MCCORMICK WILDERNESS

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a hike in the McCormick Wilderness area to view fall colors. Participants will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Superior Dome parking lot at Northern Michigan University, and return by 5 p.m.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Participants will hike to a high ridge with a view of the Peshekee River Valley and mixed deciduous-conifer trees, and along the North Country National Scenic Trail. This will be a moderate hike with some hills.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The cost is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. Bringing sturdy hiking boots, a lunch, water and rain gear is advised. The registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 6. To register or for more information, call Carole Bard at 906-228-9367.
