NCLL OFFERS BIRD-WATCHING HIKE

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a chance to hike and watch migrating birds from 8-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. Participants can meet at 7:30 a.m. in the Superior Dome parking lot at Northern Michigan University, or at 7:45 a.m. at the Deer Lake Rest Area parking lot in Shelter Bay.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Retired ornithology (the study of birds) teacher Scott Hickman will lead the hike. The hike will occur in Shelter Bay and Au Train and possibly Chatham. Participants should bring binoculars and mosquito repellent.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The cost of the hike is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 19. To register or for more information call Mary Snitgen at 906-892-8242.
