NONTRADITIONAL GENDER CAREERS OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Expanded opportunities in occupations historically dominated by one gender will be the focus of a “Nontraditional Gender Careers Open House” at Northern Michigan University. It will be held from 12-3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Jacobetti Commons Area.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Some of the occupations and NMU departments that will be showcased during the event are automotive service technology, cosmetology, criminal justice, nursing, and welding. The offices of vocational support services, JOBSearch, Gateway Academic Program and health promotions, as well as the College of Technology and Applied Sciences, will also attend.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  High school students, educators, area professionals and NMU students are welcome to attend this free open house. The event is sponsored by vocational support services and the Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency, or MARESA.
