NMU’S GERMAN FILM SERIES TO SHOW FOURTH FEATURE

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – “Europa, Europa” is the fourth feature in the German film series presented by Northern Michigan UniversityÂ’s department of modern languages and literatures. It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Jamrich room 203 at NMU.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The 1989 film was directed by Agnieszka Holland and is 105 minutes long. It is based on a true story with an incredible chain of events. A Jewish teen flees for his life, fights for the Russians, becomes a hero in the German army and attends an elite Nazi school.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The German film series is titled “Surviving the Odds, Resistance and Return in the 1940s.” All showings have English subtitles and there is no admission charge. For more information, call Carol Strauss Sotiropoulos at 906-227-1201.
