NMU’S GERMAN FILM SERIES TO SHOW SECOND FEATURE

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – “The Murderers are Among Us” is the second feature in the German film series presented by Northern Michigan UniversityÂ’s department of modern languages and literatures. It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Jamrich room 203 at NMU.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The 1946 film was directed by Wolfgang Staudte and is 90 minutes long. It tells the story of Susanne, a concentration camp survivor who returns to Berlin to find a guilt-consumed alcoholic doctor living in her apartment.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  The German film series is titled “Surviving the Odds, Resistance and Return in the 1940s,” All showings have English subtitles and there is no admission charge. For more information, call Carol Strauss Sotiropoulos at 906-227-1201.
