FORMER AMOCO VICE PRESIDENT TO VISIT NMU

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  MARQUETTE – Michael H. Nelsen, a former vice president with Amoco Oil Company, will be an executive-in-residence for the College of Business at Northern Michigan University Oct. 8-9.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Nelsen worked for Amoco from 1966 to 1999 in various positions. He started in sales and marketing and transferred in 1980 to oil trading, becoming one of fewer than 400 oil traders worldwide. Before working for Amoco, Nelsen received a B.A. from NMU in 1963 and was a U.S. Naval aviator from 1963 to 1966.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Nelsen is the past president of the Board of Directors of the NMU Alumni Association. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the NMU Development Fund, chair of the Cisler College of Business Advisory Council and the founding member and president of MenÂ’s International Mission, a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to building schools and childrenÂ’s homes in developing countries.

 Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚  Nelsen will be attending several business, marketing and management courses during his two-day visit to NMU. He will also be meeting with faculty and some student organizations.
