What is your job title in the International Programs office?

Coordinator-Education Abroad & Exchange Programs

What do you do in the International Programs office?

I am responsible for designing and administering effective academic opportunities for NMU students who wish to study, intern, and teach abroad.  Part of my job involves talking with NMU students, faculty, staff and families – and another part involves keeping current with best practices in safety, health and risk management of our NMU-affiliated programs.

What are your favorite things to do in Marquette?

Fish – in all types of weather.  My husband and I love to do anything that happens in the woods or on the water.  In Marquette itself, I really enjoy musical events at Kaufman and taking a walk around Presque Isle.  My favorite place to hang out is the Peter White Public Library.

Describe yourself in one word.

Upbeat-Optimistic-Smart.  (I cheated with hyphens.)

What do you like most about your job at NMU?

The opportunity to help students refine, focus and achieve their dreams.  I touch upon changing the world just one student at a time.  How awesome is that?!?

What is one interesting fact about you?

I have continuously been a member of a choral group of one kind or another since I was 4 years old.  That’s a lot of singing.

If you could say one thing to every college student in the world, what would it be?

Cultivate curiosity.
