How to Transfer to NMU

To apply for an undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan University, you will need to submit the following documentation:

  1. International Student Admission Application
  2. Pay $35 application fee (must be in U.S. funds)
  3. Transcript Request
    1. US College/University Transcripts - Transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution to be considered "official". 
    2. Non US and Non Canadian Transcripts - credential evaluation and transcript(s)
      1. Credential Evaluation Report and Transcripts (Only one credential evaluation is required) 

        1. Education Credential Evaluators (ECE)  This service allows applicants to submit their official educational documents only once to ECE.  NMU will receive your verified document(s) from ECE along with your credential evaluation report. Select the "course by course report" ($160)

        2. World Education Service (WES)  This service allows applicants to submit their official educational documents only once to WES. NMU will receive your verified document(s) from ECE along with your credential evaluation report. Select the "course by course report with ICAP" ($205)

        Other approved evaluators may be considered if part of NACES

  4. English language proficiency - Test Scores

  5. Certification of Finances - $30,776 (Step-by-Step Instructions)
