Buddy Program

IntlFriendsGroup.jpgArriving in another country can be an intimidating experience for some students. Adjusting to a new cultural environment is both exciting and challenging. New international students at NMU often have a lot of questions and concerns during their first weeks on campus.

The Buddy Program was created to ease the transition. It provides opportunities for students to interact through group activities such as a bowling night and an international game night. Some American students have also helped with transportation and shopping.

As an International student, getting a buddy is one of the smartest things you can do this semester! You gain an American friend who can help you with questions and concerns and provide information about NMU. It is also a great way to improve your English language skills.
